ACS designed and built a free-standing enclosure for testing engine components using a variety of fuels. For safe operation, the unitary test enclosure does not allow operators to physically enter the test enclosure. Test enclosure was designed and built to meet customer and industry requirements for sound transmission, fire, pressure, and fuel handling.
Two large doors on one side of the test enclosure allow access to the test equipment. Access to electrical panels and data acquisition system is on the opposite side of the test rig. A scavenge air system ensures proper ventilation. An Allen Bradley PLC is used to monitor all fuel safety-related items and interfaces with the data acquisition system as well as providing any future cell temperature control supervision.
ACS designed and built carts for transfer of test articles in and out of the test enclosure. Carts roll up and dock with the enclosure, allowing for easy and safe transfer of the test articles.
